Why It Matters

Your Google Business Profile is the most-seen page your business has.

Before customers visit your website, they look at your Google listing. They see your stars, your hours, your services, your posts. They click "Call" without ever leaving Google. An optimized profile shows up more, gets clicked more, and converts more — and a neglected one quietly costs you business every week.

The Map Pack decides the call

Most local searches show three businesses at the top of the page — the Map Pack. If you're not in it, you're effectively invisible. Profile quality is one of the strongest ranking factors for who lands there.

Most calls never see your website

The "Call" button on your GBP listing is one tap. Customers use it constantly — on phones, in cars, at the side of the road. A complete profile turns Google searches directly into phone calls without you paying for an ad.

Complete profiles outrank incomplete ones

Google heavily weights profile completeness: filled categories, services list, hours, attributes, photos, recent posts. Most local businesses fill maybe 30% of what's available. We fill 100% and keep it that way.

Profiles silently change without you

Google's AI sometimes "improves" your categories or hours. Customers and even competitors can submit suggested edits that quietly go live. We monitor every profile we manage and catch changes within days, not months.

Active profiles beat dormant ones

Google rewards profiles with recent activity — weekly posts, new reviews, fresh updates. The profile you set up once and forgot is invisible to the algorithm now. Activity signals "open for business" in a way no one-time setup ever can.

AI search reads your GBP first

ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, and other AI assistants pull local business data from GBP listings. When someone asks an AI "best HVAC near me," the answer comes from profiles like yours. Optimizing for Google now optimizes for AI search later.

What Active Management Looks Like

The build, the watch, and the rhythm.

Most profiles never get a proper build-out. The ones that do then sit there while Google changes things, the public submits edits, and customer photos pile up. And on top of both, there's a steady cadence of recurring work that keeps a profile alive in Google's eyes. All three layers matter.

01 The build — what we fill in

Primary & secondary categories

The single biggest ranking factor on a profile. We test category combinations against actual search behavior — Google has 4,000+ to pick from.

Services list

Each service entered individually with description and price range. Most profiles list 2-3. We routinely list 15-25 — visible in-listing and feeds Google's understanding of what you do.

Attributes & amenities

"Veteran-owned," "wheelchair-accessible," "online estimates," "appointment required" — dozens of flags affect filtering and visibility, especially as customers refine searches.

Hours & special hours

Regular hours plus holidays, seasonal changes, and emergency availability — kept current year-round. Stale holiday hours quietly signal "abandoned" to Google.

Business description

750 characters where you control the narrative. Written for what customers search for — geography, specialties, certifications — not generic marketing copy.

Service areas

For service-area businesses, every town and ZIP you actually serve — 20-50 entries for a typical local trades business — so you appear in searches across your full coverage zone.

02 The watch — what we catch

Silent Google edits

Google's AI sometimes "auto-improves" your categories, hours, or attributes with no notification. We catch them within days and reverse anything that hurts you.

Suggested edits from the public

Anyone — including competitors — can submit "suggested edits" to your hours, phone, or address. Unchecked, they go live. We approve or reject every one.

Suspensions & disablement

A suspended profile vanishes from search until restored. We monitor for this and handle the appeal process directly with Google.

Customer-uploaded photos

Customers can upload photos to your listing — sometimes ones you'd rather weren't there. We monitor uploads and request removal of anything inappropriate or off-brand.

Profile ownership & access

Profiles occasionally get "claimed" by third parties trying to take control. We monitor ownership changes and intervene when something looks wrong.

Review activity

All new reviews flow into the Review Management system included with this service — request, monitor, respond. Negative reviews flagged for your attention.

03 The rhythm — what we do every week

Review Management included

Our Review Management service — branded review request emails and texts your team sends in seconds after a job. A $99/month value, built in.

Monthly performance report

Plain-English: how many people saw your profile, called, got directions, clicked through. Not 40 pages of charts — just the numbers that matter, with a brief note on what changed.

Weekly Google Posts

Fresh posts on your profile, every week.

Common Questions

What people ask before getting started.

$350/month flat per profile, with volume discounts for multi-location businesses. Includes everything described on this page — optimization, weekly posts, profile monitoring, and Review Management (a $99/month standalone product). No setup fee, no long-term contract.
Review Management ($99/month standalone) is the email/SMS request system your team uses to get more Google reviews. Google Maps Management ($350/month) is the broader profile service — optimization, weekly posts, monitoring, AND Review Management bundled in. If you only need help getting reviews, the standalone $99 service is the right fit. If you want the full profile managed, this is it.
Yes — multi-location pricing scales down per profile. A business with 4 locations doesn't pay 4 × $350. Give us a call with your location count and we'll quote you a per-profile rate that reflects the volume.
Most clients see measurable changes in profile impressions and clicks within 4-6 weeks. Ranking improvements (showing up more in the Map Pack) typically take 60-90 days as Google re-indexes your profile. Reviews coming in is usually the fastest — your team can be sending requests the first day.
Photos are the one piece Google doesn't make available through their automated API — they have to be uploaded manually through the Google interface. If you send us photos, we upload them on a rolling basis as part of the service. If you don't have photos yet, we'll guide you on what to take and when.
Suspensions happen — sometimes for clear reasons, sometimes for opaque ones. As part of this service, we handle the appeal process directly with Google. We've successfully appealed many suspensions over the years and know what Google's reinstatement team needs to see.
Yes — Google Ads management is our largest service. The two work very well together: an optimized GBP improves Quality Scores on your ads, lowers cost-per-click, and gives the location extensions in your ads something strong to point at. We can bundle pricing if you're interested in both.
No long-term contract. Cancel anytime with 30 days' notice. Your profile remains yours — we never take "ownership," we have manager-level access that you can revoke at any time. Whatever we built on the profile stays in place when you leave.
